11.22.10 [k-popped] Fugitive Plan B in City of Dreams, Macau

by jax625

by Liz@k-popped

Did you catch episode 7 of Rain’s Fugitive Plan B? What caught my attention while watching that particular episode was that it was filmed in Macau.

I could spot most of the places featured in the show because I had the opportunity to visit Macau in Oct 2010 .

ROMANCE: Jini (Lee Na-young, left) and Kai (Daniel Henney) go on a date near the ruins of St. Paul’s church

On top of that, I was also invited for a tour of City of Dreams (CoD), one of the newest integrated entertainment resorts in Macau. As things turned out, CoD is also a location sponsor for the drama.

11.06.10 [dramabeans] Runaway Plan B: Halftime report

by jax625

Thanks so much for the detailed report Javabeans! To our readers…please note: This post contains spoilers for those who are not caught up with all the episodes yet, so proceed at your own risk ^^

**please do not repost without credits to dramabeans.com & javabeans, thanks!

All right, folks, time to check back in with Runaway Plan B. I’ve been watching the episodes despite not recapping it, and now at the halfway mark, I can say that the show is better now than it was at the outset. I’m still a few points away from loving it, but I’m more invested than I was.

I said in the initial recap (and the podcast) that I liked it with some reservations, because there were a few key points that kept me from jumping fully onboard. Like the super-slickness, the style-without-a-heart vibe, the bravado. And one main weak point still holds it back: While the individual episodes move briskly (how can they not, with all that running?), the overall story progresses at a creepy-crawl. If you cut through the action and the fighting and boil down what actually happened in an episode, you’ll see that plot movement only actually makes up small fraction of the real estate. There’s a lot of time spent on filler stuff, like the other PIs in other countries and whatnot. But maybe that’s intentional.

On the upside, Runaway IS very easy to watch. And it may have taken about six episodes before I cared anything about any character, but here at Episode 10, we’re making some nice movements forward. (Finally!)

Here’s the thing, though: You absolutely can’t take it seriously. You have to approach the drama knowing it’s all fun fluff, whether we’re talking about everyone’s magic designer wardrobe — despite being on the run five times per episode — or escaping from handcuffs with a bendy straw. You’ve gotta roll with the ridiculous punches and laugh at the cheekiness, rather than rolling your eyes in derision, because otherwise you’ll just strain yourself (and said eyes).

11.01.10 [KBS] Revenge Looms in ‘The Fugitive’

by jax625

A protagonist swears to take revenge against an enemy for killing his fellow man in “The Fugitive: Plan B.”

In the October 28 episode, Ji-woo (Rain) and Ji-ni (Lee Na-young) face the danger of losing their lives after being caught by Yang Doo-hee (Song Jae-ho). Ji-woo tries to makes a deal with Doo-hee since he has found out his identity and motives. But Doo-hee insteads orders Mi-jin (Yoon Sohn-ha) to get rid of them for his safety.

Mi-jin has already kidnapped Jang Sa-bu (Kong Hyung-jin), a fellow private agent of Ji-woo’s. She threatens to poison Sa-bu to death if Ji-woo does not cooperate. And when Ji-woo resists and does not give the answers they want, she kills Sa-bu in front of Ji-woo, making Ji-woo feel tormented. Mi-jin then tries to inject the poison into Ji-ni.

Fortunately, Do-soo (Lee Jung-jin) visits Ji-ni in timely manner, and Ji-woo escapes with Ji-ni in the meantime. They go to the temple where they hid themselves before. Ji-woo, giving Sa-bu’s hair to a reverend there, asks him to pray for him. “I couldn’t bring his body and so instead I brought this hair. He died because of me,” he says guiltily.

Ji-woo then calls Mi-jin and warns that he will seek revenge. He says, “You are no longer a menace since I know all about your group. You may have had an advantageous position when I was detained, but since I’m out I will not let you get away. This is a warning. I will not forgive you.”

His remarks hint that he will not deal with them as private agents for Ji-ni but clash with them head-on for his own vengeance.

“The Fugitive” airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays on KBS2 at 9:55 p.m.

10.28.10 [dramabeans] Yoon Jin-seo models for fragrance ad

by jax625

Yoon Jin-seo has my favorite storyline in Runaway Plan B, and since she’s playing a cop on the move, she doesn’t get much chance to dress up in the drama — although how she runs around and does any sort of action in killer heels is beyond me — so I love seeing her looking so fresh and pretty for an ad campaign, for The First Fragrance by Lolita Lempicka.

How the brains of the stars in KBS 2TV’s drama ‘The Fugitive Plan B’ are organized, is released.

The brain structures recently released on the drama’s official website show that the mysterious death of ‘Ji Woo’s close friend ‘Kevin’ (O Ji Ho) occupies the middle of ‘Ji Woo’s brain (Rain)
