  1. Thanks Cloud Phillippines!

  2. Thank you, thank you, thank you. They did look their best, especially Mr. Daniel Henney. Rain needs a shave I think but probably he’s been saving this look for his shoot. LJJ too must be saving his looks for his shoot.
Thanks too Cloud-Ph particularly Agent Paulette and that wondeful linguist who worked with Rain for 2 days 8 years ago.

  3. Rain doesn’t need to go through an interpreter. Though the English language was brought to the Philippines by the Americans in 1898, and is spoken by almost every Filipino, and is the medium of communication in the Philippines, also the medium of instruction in the schools from Nursery to Graduate School, and even the Philippine Constitution is written in English….as a fellow Asian, there is that affinity there and you can be understood by the Filipinos, Rain.

  4. Why tjrachel ! ! ! How did you know Philippine History. Are you by any chance of Filipino ancestry? You are right in that account. As I mentioned earlier, Filipinos will understand any English , broken or otherwise; as long as it’s in English. Some of us are not that perfect in English either and believe it or not some do not speak English at all too just like anybody in other countries. That’s why I was wondering why Rain did not forego hanggul in favor of English during the interview when we all know that he could express himself in English as well. Could it be because Mr. Henney was there and he feels embarassed ? Oh well, Rain feels comfortable speaking in Korean while a translator was there, and so that was that.

  5. Felisshi, dear you didn’t see my post at 625? Yes, I am…though my great-grandfather was half-Spanish and my great-grandmother half-Chinese. I’ve got family there in the US and was planning to move there, but right now I’m still here in the Philippines. Yes, broken or otherwise, we could have understood him. That’s what I was trying to say too.
